Prophecy

In Prophecy , children play the role of an apprentice shaman in a prehistoric tribe. As the Wise people of the tribe they must interpret the signs of the world to guide and  protect them from any disasters that befall the world.

One night, each shaman has a prophetic dream that predicts a calamitous  event. The problem is that each shaman has had a slightly different dream. To be able to prevent the disaster, the apprentice-shamen must determine which of the dreams will come to pass. To do this, they must go out into the world and find the signs that confirm or deny each of the dreams.

Prophecy is a reading game, in which players must work together. To solve the problem of the different visions that they have, the players must read descriptions of the different places in the world so as to find the evidence they need.

Game is still in development.

This game will help children to develop their reading skills in selecting and retrieving; inference and deduction;  and justifying opinions using evidence-based reasoning.

An ideal game for a guided reading activity with an adult or for independent group work during a reading carousel.
